Critical Home Repair Program

What is the Critical Home Repair Program?

Habitat for Humanity is committed to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter with our home repair program. Repair is defined as any disrepair that threatens the health or safety of the occupants or any home modification necessary to provide safe accessibility for disabled persons or to weatherize homes to prolong the life of the home and lower utility bills.

Types of Repairs

Examples of Repairs May Include:

  • Roof Repairs/Replacement
  • Bathroom & accessibility modifications, such as installing grab bars, shower conversions, widening doorways
  • Plumbing Repairs
  • Electrical Repairs
  • Other issues that impact health and safety

*The program is provided strictly on a funds-availability basis. The scope of acceptable projects is determined on a case-by-case basis. Availability of funds, grant, and contract restrictions, and local, state, or federal building and repair regulations may affect it. The organization reserves the right to limit the scope and cost of repair provided to each household to provide repairs to the maximum number of eligible individuals in the service areas.*
